Let’s take a brief look at just one study that didn’t get all that much publicity. The study took place in London, UK, and followed 180 workers in the manufacturing industry in Britain. During the study, half of the participants took a complete health supplement and the second group were given a “sugar pill” with no vitamins present in it. The test lasted 2 months, at the end, the results showed that those taking the vitamins pills experienced a marked improvement in their quality of life.
The control group (those taking the placebo) felt no different than at the beginning of the study. Researchers concluded that the supplements did actually have an impact on improving the workers attitude, wellbeing and overall stress levels. And all from a simple vitamin and mineral supplement… with all those clinical trials to confirm their conclusions.
As more and more rigorous scientific studies accumulate showing spectacular health benefits from vitamins and minerals, particularly when they are part of a healthy natural detox diets, we’re right back where we were twenty years ago: eager to take advantage of all of this healing potential – yet confused by the overwhelming hype and dis-information out there. While the reasons for taking vitamins and minerals are now backed up by clinical trials, cutting through the sales hype when buying supplements can be hard work.
